We had so much fun unboxing it! It reminded us of days when our mothers had sent us care packages from Japan when we moved to the United States some decades ago. Yuko’s favorite is Sakura Peanuts, and Noriko’s favorite is Soba Karinto with brown sugar. We have never seem these sweets before, but they are both delicious! Sakura Peanuts has a subtle flavor of sakura (cherry blossom) that is used in Japanese seasonal confectioneries such as Sakura Mochi. Soba Karinto is crunchy, and it’s sweetened with brown sugar, but not too sweet. Both treats are great with green tea or coffee.
