Broccoli and beef stir-fry is a staple Japanese home-cooked dish. Similar to the Chinese classic, broccoli and beef with oyster sauce stir-fry, which is one of the most popular Chinese dishes of all time, our version is less saucy and lightly flavored, making it perfect for everyday dinners or packed Bento lunches. Its taste is simple and fresh, and no one will complain when it appears on the table frequently.
Because it’s such a casual stir-fry dish, it can be done in even fewer steps than ours. However, a little effort can significantly enhance the result. First, let’s talk about cooking the broccoli. You can prep the vegetable by lightly steaming or boiling it. This way, the broccoli can be stir-fried with seasonings without having to spend much time in the pan, ensuring it remains cooked through while retaining its bright color. Second, let’s consider the beef. While you can simply add raw beef to the pan, taking the step of marinating it briefly can help keep the beef juicy and tender. Both of these preparation steps only take a few minutes, but they are definitely worth the effort.
Once it’s prepped properly, the rest is easy. Just stir-fry for a few minutes with seasonings. It’s a great main dish for everyday dinner, and any leftovers can be packed for the next day’s lunch if there are any left. Give Broccoli Beef Stir-fry a try. It’s so delicious, nutritious, and simple to make, it may become a weekly dish for you!
