Curry Fried Rice is literally curry flavored fried rice. It is so easy to make, and the old cooked rice can be deliciously recycled, which is really very helpful if you’re making rice regularly.
When you cook rice all the time, you’ll have a little leftover of the rice all the time too. If it doesn’t look so appetizing eating as plain Steamed Rice by itself, it is a great idea to make it into fried rice such as Yakimeshi fried rice and Omurice. Adding flavorings and other ingredients can revive the old rice or even make it into a better tasting dish. Curry powder will make the rice more spicy and different from ordinary fried rice. If you want a little kick for your rice, this is for you. Curry powder is quite hot, so you may not want to add too much. Supplementing with other seasonings like Worcestershire sauce and Soy Sauce will deepen the flavor without adding more curry powder. If you like it hot, go ahead and add more, of course. We used ground beef here, but chicken, pork, or sausages will work very well too. Especially sausages are great, giving another layer of flavors and saltiness to the dish.
If your old rice is piling up in the freezer, take that space back and try this yummy Curry Fried Rice.
