Miso Walnut (くるみ味噌) is a healthy and tasty side dish that is so easy to make with only three ingredients. Walnut pieces are coated with miso paste mixed with honey. This sweet and savory walnut is great for topping on rice, toast, and vegetable. You can also use this as a dip.
Traditional Japanese miso walnut recipes tend to use a lot of sugar and mirin, but they can be a bit too sweet. We think honey adds just enough sweetness for this dish. You can use any miso of your choice, light or dark, and you can certainly adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
