Japanese-style fried rice (Yakimeshi) seasoned with dashi powder

Ingredients

Instructions 

  • Chop the green onion and ham and set aside. Beat eggs in a small bowl.
  • Heat a wok or a frying pan with the oil at medium high heat. Add the ham and cook for 2 minutes. Add the eggs, stir for a minute, and add the rice (eggs are not cooked through yet.) Cook the rice with the egg, mixing with a spatula to separate the rice for about 5 minutes. Add the dashi powder and white pepper and cook for a minute. Add the chopped green onion and soy sauce to taste and cook for another minute.
