Miso Soup with Asparagus, Onion, and Ham

Ingredients

  • 8 spears asparagus
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 slices ham
  • 4 cups dashi
  • 4 tbsp miso paste (adjust to taste)

Instructions 

  • Remove hard bottom parts of the asparagus spears and cut into 3 to 4 pieces each. Slice onion thinly. Cut ham into bite size pieces.
  • Bring the dashi to a boil and cook onion and ham for 3 minutes. Add the asparagus and cook for another 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and dissolve the miso paste.
