White button mushrooms, which can be found at any local market, are a flavorful and key ingredient in this miso soup
- 2 green onions
- 4 oz pork, thinly sliced
- 4 button mushrooms
- 2 tsp oil
- 4 cups water
- 4 Tbsp miso paste
Thinly slice green onions. Cut pork into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice mushrooms.
Heat oil in a pot, add pork, and cook until it turns color. Add mushrooms and cook until tender. Add water and let boil for a couple of minutes. Remove scum that comes up to the surface. Dissolve miso paste in the soup and add green onions.
