White button mushrooms, which can be found at any local market, are a flavorful and key ingredient in this miso soup

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 green onions
  • 4 oz pork, thinly sliced
  • 4 button mushrooms
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 Tbsp miso paste

Instructions 

  • Thinly slice green onions. Cut pork into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice mushrooms.
  • Heat oil in a pot, add pork, and cook until it turns color. Add mushrooms and cook until tender. Add water and let boil for a couple of minutes. Remove scum that comes up to the surface. Dissolve miso paste in the soup and add green onions.
