Onigiri with Fried Onions

Steamed rice mixed with seasoned fried onions and shaped into typical Onigiri triangles

Ingredients

Instructions 

  • Thinly slice only the green part of the green onions.
  • Combine soy sauce, sake, and mirin in a small pot. Let them boil for 30 seconds. Immediately add fried onions and chopped green onions, then mix.
  • Put steamed rice in a large bowl, and mix in the fried onion mixture. Add salt if needed. Divide the rice mixture into quarters. Wet your hands with water. Place one-quarter of the rice in one hand, press, and form it into a triangle shape.
