Ground beef is seasoned with light teriyaki sauce and served on chopped romaine lettuce, red onion, and tomato.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp potato starch (or corn starch)
- 2 tbsp water
- 8 leaves romaine lettuce (chopped)
- 1/2 red onion (slice thinly)
- 12 grape tomatoes (cut in halves)
- sliced pickles
- Japanese mayonnaise
Heat oil in a frying pan at medium high heat and cook ground beef until browned. Remove the fat using paper towels. Add the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and rice vinegar to the pan, and stir for a minute. Mix the potato starch and water in a small bowl, and add to the pan. Stir and cook until thickened, and remove from the heat.
In individual bowls, divide and place the lettuce, red onion, and tomatoes. Top with the seasoned ground beef. Top with sliced pickles and Japanese mayonnaise.
